MPL50-Li isn't just a charger. In SUPPORT mode it delivers a stable 13.4V constant output up to 50A for ECU Updates and diagnostics. For versatility, MPL50-Li can be mounted on one of our adaptable workshop trolley allowing you to transport the charger and accessories with ease.

Workshop Flexibility

MPL50-Li uses Traction's advanced 3 stage charging process to efficiently charge the battery without the risk of overcharging. Charging stages include Constant Current (CI), Constant Voltage (CV) and Float. Advanced algorithms allow for accurate battery detection with zero-crossing voltage sensing.

Microprocessor Controlled

MPL50-Li is designed with multiple safety features to protect the charger and keep users safe. Reverse polarity protection prevents damage if cables are connected incorrectly, Short Circuit Shutdown prevents fuse blowing and zero crossing volt sensing keeps an eye on the battery throughout charging.

  • MPL50 Li supports most 12V battery technologies including Lithium LiFePO4, Calcium/Calcium (Ca/Ca), Calcium/Silver (Ca/Ag). AGM, GEL and conventional Lead-Acid batteries.

  • Yes! It supports Lithium batteries including LiFePO4.

  • The MPL50-Li uses a three-stage process: Constant Current (CI), Constant Voltage (CV), and Float. During the first stage, it delivers a fast, steady current to bulk charge the battery. The second stage maintains a fixed voltage as the battery approaches full charge. The float stage then holds the battery at the correct maintenance voltage indefinitely without overcharging.

  • For conventional lead acid, AGM, and GEL batteries, yes. For LiFePO4 batteries that have become deeply discharged and shut themselves down via the BMS, the contactor reset and recovery mode can be used to reactivate the battery before normal charging begins.

  • MPL50 Li has been designed to protect both the battery and user. It has Reverse Polarity, Short Circuit, Adaptive Load, Temperature and Parallel Load Compensations and protections built in.

  • The MPL50-Li accepts 110–230V AC, making it compatible with standard UK and European workshop supplies as well as international markets.

  • As standard, each MPL50 Li comes with our braided 4.7 meter cables with a 2.4 metre power cable. All cables are detachable and replaceable.
